B Corp

We have exciting news at the Bee!  Sleepy Bee is now a Certified B Corporation™!

What does that mean?
Certified B Corporations aka “B Corps”, are for-profit companies dedicated to using business as a force for good.  B Corps are companies verified by B Lab (through a thorough, all-encompassing certification process).  We have proved that we meet their high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Unlike traditional corporations, B Corps are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders: customers, workers, communities, vendors, and the environment. 

We have been working on this certification for over 2.5 years!  Here is a video if you want more B Corp information. 

We are ready to celebrate!  

On Sunday Apr 23, 2023 We are going to hold a celebration for our team, our community and our local vendors who helped make this certification possible.  At our new College Hill location we will be hosting a party at 4-6pm with an after party across the street at the park.  You and your family are welcome to join.  

We are also hoping to include some of our local vendors in our celebration by asking if you would showcase your product, your story or your brand in some way. We are thinking of having some of our vendors set up at different locations throughout our restaurant to answer questions, give out samples or tell their story.  Let me know if this is something you would be up for.
